Gören Kalpler Eðitim Derneði - The Hearts that can See Association Promoter organisation of A Step Towards the Light Projects
Gören Kalpler Association is supporting blind children and teenagers and their families. They are teaching them after school, making culture and sports activities and give them also vocational training. They are the first and only association in Turkey that represents blind young people under the age of 18. They are realizing projects and organizations, which are aiming that the families of the disabled get the special training, so 10000 children in our country can get a proper education and be at peace with them by taking part on sport and cultural activities.
The association, which was founded on November the 1st, 2004, in Ankara, is giving support education to children and teenagers after school with the help of volunteers. There are several free courses (PC, Foreign Language and Independent acting in the socio-community).
To increase the cultural and art activities of the children they offer them acting and musical instrument lessons.
The Association has its own rehabilitation and training centre, where they want to make EU projects in the future, to give the disabled people the chance to live a "normal" life.

Berufsförderungsinstitut Steiermark (AT)
The Bfi Steiermark is one of the largest institutions for vocational training in Austria; they are a non-profit organisation and are carried by the Austrian Trade Union and the Federal Chamber of Labour. Per year they train about 27.000 people in many different sectors from wood and construction, metal, computer training, e-learning, languages, management, health and social professions, etc. In addition the Bfi Steiermark has high competence in active labour market policy, vocational workplace organisations, socio-economic organisations, employment self-help projects, consulting sector and quality management. Since they started their EU activities they have participated in more than 45 projects. Following internal testing, a lot of measures, findings and publications developed in EU projects are integrated into the seminars offered at bfi Steiermark. That way, bfi Steiermark guarantees education and training on a high international level. VOGS is one of their Leonardo projects where they help disadvantaged people to access education and counselling in the vocational field. Especially in these areas there are no target group oriented offers across Europe. These offers are the basic access requirements for the labour market for disabled people. Another project is OBVIOUS (Orienting Blind Visually Impaired). It concerns are the needs of young, visually impaired people concerning their personal and vocational realization. They were also involved into the EUROCHANCE project, which will be transferred from our Czech Partner. ProBiQ is a training course in the area of programming for blind people and people with poor vision and will be transferred in this project.
The Berufsförderungsinstitut Steiermark (Vocational Promotion Institute Styria) is amongst the leading training institutions in Austria. It was founded and is owned by the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions (Österreichischer Gewerkschaftsbund) and the Chamber of Labour (Arbeiterkammer). Bfi Steiermark has been known in the field of education and training for almost 50 years and is classified as an association, whose activities are non-profit oriented.
The main activities of bfi Steiermark lie primarily in the planning and implementation of courses and learning events within the field of vocational training and adult education.
In addition to the main field of vocational training and adult education, bfi Steiermark has high competence in active labour market policy measures such as workforce providers, vocational placement organisations, socio-economic organisations, self-help projects in the employment policy, as well as in services in the consulting sector (EDP, training and education, quality management, company consulting in terms of personnel development).
Bfi Steiermark also takes over the role of a project leader and a project partner in numerous EU projects. Since bfi has started the EU activities it has participated in more than 45 projects. Bourgas Free University, Bulgaria (BG)
Mission of Burgas Free University to be a flexible, enterprising and socially responsible institution, which provides training of undergraduates and graduates with skills for quick professional realization and career in the dynamic and globalizing environment of today. BFU provides education devoted to the national prosperity and oriented towards the European values.

The Burgas Free University/Bulgaria is the partner who will transfer all the products like Turkey. The University takes part at the Socrates Programme. The mission of Burgas Free University to be a flexible, enterprising and socially responsible institution, which provides training of undergraduates and graduates with skills for quick professional realization and career in the dynamic and globalizing environment of today. In this project they will work in cooperation with the Rehabilitation for the Blind Foundation/Bulgaria, which is also involved into the E-YES Pilot Project. After adoption of the products into Bulgaria they will establish a training centre at the University where the products will be disseminated and trainings will be given to the visually impaired.
Berufsförderungswerk Düren (DE)
The Berufsförderungswerk Düren (Abbreviation: BFW) was founded in 1975. Düren is located approx. 35 km south-west to the city of Cologne. The main task of the BFW is the vocational training of people who are not longer able to continue in their profession because of their visual handicaps.
The BFW Düren offers an allround service for people with visual handicaps, their relatives and employers. All these services are separated in modules and can be combined corresponding to the demands of our clients. The following services are provided:
All day living skills and mobility training
consulting optical and electronic devices
job assessment
consulting for employers
vocational training
training on the job
customized IT training on the job
job placement
disabillity management
Meanwhile the BFW Düren has two branches to decentralize it's services to the benefit of the clients. These two branches are localized in Hamburg and Mainz. The Berufsförderungswerk Düren offers training for approx. 200 blind and visually impaired people and has an administrative and training staff with about 114 employees.
The Berufsförderungswerk Düren, Germany, is experienced in Leonardo da Vinci projects and is also experienced in the function of the coordinator. It has experiences in developing WBTs, CBTs, training concepts and curricula (in the projects PROBIQ and UMBRELLA) based on the competences of two certified tele-coaches responsible for an e-learning service for visually impaired persons. In the projects LET'S VITALIZE and PROBIQ it was responsible for developing a multimedia CD-ROM with the project results. The BFW also has sufficient experiences in generating trade marks for the products of their projects.
Brailcom. O.p.s C Czech Republic
Brailcom/ Czech Republic is a non-profit organisation established in 1996 by the Foundation for the Blind which was founded in 1993. It is working in the field of research, training, educational and assistant services for blind people. Its primary aim is to facilitate blind peoples access to information. Brailcom provides hardware and software to the blind community, service and technical background to the visually impaired clients and to organisations such as K. E. Macan Library and Printing Office for the Blind, Prague Conservatory and Tuners School of Jan Deyl that provide services to the blind. Brailcom is the promoter of the EUROCHANCE project. The general aim of the project is to reduce the unemployment rate of the blind and visually impaired and will transfer this product to Turkey.

to help successful pupils, who have no financial possibilities. It gives them grants and uses also other ways to provide the continuity of their education. to take caution for disabled people and help them to be a useful member of the society
Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry Administration for Disabled People. Turkey (TR)
Republic of Turkey Prime Minister Administration for Disabled People/ Turkey is one of our state partners. Administracy's main establishment objective is to monitor services for disabled such that they can be delivered in a more comprehensive and effective manner. Besides, developing coordination and cooperation between national and international institutions, defining problems of disabled people and making researches in order to solve these problems is among the responsibilities of Presidency. "IT'S ALL IN THE MIND" and "SYSTEMS OF INTEGRATION OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES (PWD) INTO LABOUR MARKET" are projects that they are supporting under Socrates/Grundvig 2 programme.
Prime Minister Administration for Disabled People's aims are;
Administracy's main establishment objective is to monitor services for disabled such that they can be delivered in a more comprehensive and effective manner. Besides, developing coordination and cooperation between national and international institutions, defining problems of disabled people and making researches in order to solve these problems is among the responsibilities of Presidency.Administration on Disabled People is also obliged to constitute national policy and strategy in the field of disability. The Administration realizes its strategies by developing projects in coordination with ministries and partners. Its institutional vision was set as to develop strategies and disability policies such that disabled people can lead an independent life; have equal and full participation to social, cultural and economic activities; and have equal access to information and all services.While maintaining its responsibilities, Administracy gives special importance to prevention of disability, allocation of resources for disability services, removal of barriers that prevent disabled from participation into social life, changing negative stereotypes about disabled people and improvement of life quality of disabled. Administracy on Disabled carries out its responsibilities with the view of "Society for All" and its principles for the implementation of services for disabled people are as below:

Promoting mobility and independent living abilities of disabled individuals,
Increasing awareness and sensitivity about disabled people in the society,
Provision of equal educational opportunities for disabled people throughout the life span,

TURKISH EMPLOYMENT ORGANISATION, Turkey (TR)
Turkish Employment Organisation's aims:
to help in activities for developing a national employment policy, protecting and enhancing employment, preventing unemployment, and to execute unemployment insurance procedures,
to compile, analyse, interpret and publish labour market data on a local and national basis, to set up a Labour Market Information Counselling Board and coordinate Board's work, to analyse labour force requirements in order to determine labour force supply and demand, and to have them analysed,
to make job and occupation analyses and to have them analysed, to provide consultancy services for job and occupation and enable them to be provided, to train labour force with the aim of increasing employment of the labour force, to develop and implement vocational training and labour force harmonisation programmes, to arrange training seminars for the labour force in employment,
to carry out studies for regularising job search and worker demands, to mediate with the purpose of finding suitable jobs to the labour force both in home and abroad and concluding foreign service contracts, to contribute to employment of the labour force for whom it is difficult to create employment and to create employment for work places who legally have to employ labour force, to fulfil responsibilities assigned to the Organisation regarding special employment offices, to carry out procedures related with permitting and abolishing mediation for finding employment and jobs with wages in agricultural works, and the employers' supply of workers whom he will employ in his own job and operations.
To provide training and consultancy services to organisations and institutions at a national or international level by participating the relevant tenders falling into the Organisation's field of operation.
To follow up the decisions taken by the European Union and international organisations concerning labour force, employment and working life, to implement the decisions of the bilateral or multilateral agreements, contracts and recommendations falling into the Organisation's field of operation to which Turkish Republic Government is a party.
